Dream - I was with a United States Army unit. I could see the skyline of a major United States city on the other side of a lake we were beside. It appeared we were wasting time to avoid going into the city. The unit commander had refused to obey an order.
I heard a large convoy approaching. I could see soldiers hanging on the sides of convoy vehicles. They were yelling in celebration. They threw spent ammunition casings on the ground in a boastful manner and heckled us for not entering the city with them. All my unit was arrested for inaction against US citizens. End
Judgment is coming to this nation. Unimaginable events will occur. You have one hope! That hope is Jesus Christ.

<![CDATA[The Unusual 1908 Dedication of the First Baptist Church Sanctuary]]>Sun, 01 Aug 2021 09:18:17 GMThttp://junipertreeandbeyond.com/byrons-written-blog/the-unusual-1908-dedication-of-the-first-baptist-church-sanctuaryThe Unusual 1908 Dedication of the First Baptist Church Sanctuary-- Masonic history. Note original name "Decatur Baptist" changed to FBC in 1919/incorporated as such 1932

The August 11, 1908 dedication of the third sanctuary of the First Baptist Church (now the Stephenson Chapel named for Pastor Emeritus W.K. Stephenson) was quite unusual in a number of aspects.

One of those was the temporary moving of the wooden second sanctuary from about ½ block to the NE on Church Street between Oak and Line Streets to a place in the middle of Oak Street near Lafayette Street side by side with the new sanctuary. Why this was done is a mystery (perhaps to remind the congregation of the humble 1883 structure in which they had endured compared to the gorgeous and spacious brick sanctuary to be occupied 25 years later?) but below is the absolute photographic evidence that this DID occur. The older wooden sanctuary probably did not have either plumbing or electricity capability, therefore was easy to simply jack up off of the foundation, place on multiple wagons and move intact. There are buildings remaining in Decatur today that were moved one or more times to new locations in exactly this manner.

A second unusual aspect of the dedication was the significant Masonic participation in the dedication ceremony. Many statewide Masonic officers were in the city at that exact time for a conference, so were invited to participate and did so! According to Allie Butler in her definitive history of FBC, “Celebrating Over 150 Years”, “With most of the prominent men of the church and of Decatur being Masons, and with all the important buildings around the nation having the cornerstone ceremony conducted by the Masons, their presence at the ceremony for the building of the church was a mark of the high esteem with which this particular building was viewed throughout the city and the state. A record of this event is duly recorded in the book, “Masonry in Alabama”…” It should be noted that among the articles placed inside the cornerstone for future opening were a number of Masonic articles as well FBC memorabilia including a chronological history of the church, a membership list and other information about both the church and the town at that time.

Yet another unusual aspect of the dedication of the 1908 sanctuary was WHO wrote the church history up to that time that was placed inside the cornerstone. First Baptist Church member Samuel Sinclair Broadus (who lived diagonally across Oak Street from the church) was a very famous banker who worked for a time with John D. Rockefeller at Standard Oil Co. and later was a founder of what became the Tennessee Valley Bank (where the Morgan County Archives is today) which became State National Bank—Central—Compass and now BBVA Bank. He was also a financial instructor of great renown.

Mr. Broadus was famous in his own right but additionally so because of his family. His father John Albert Broadus was a founder of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, then in SC, now in Louisville, KY, and an early President and professor at that seminary. The great preacher Charles Spurgeon often called John Albert Broadus “the greatest of living preachers”. Noted church historian Albert H. Newman called J.A. Broadus “perhaps the greatest preacher the Baptists have ever produced”. A number of editions of the Baptist Hymnal have borne the name of “Broadman” which is a direct reference to this family. There is an antique case inside First Baptist Church today which holds a number of historical pieces of memorabilia from the Broadus family. Decatur historians Phil Wirey and Mark Ray have separately created excellent programs on this family worthy of exploration!]]>

Freemasonry Report

Motion Concerning Freemasonry

In annual session of the Baptist Convention, June 9-11, 1992 the following motion was approved:
The Southern Baptist Convention in annual session June 9-11, 1992, at Indianapolis, Indiana, directs the
Interfaith Witness Department of the Home Mission Board to study the compatibility with Christianity
and Southern Baptist doctrine of the organization known variously as the Masonic Lodge, Masonry,
Freemasonry, and or Ancient and Accepted Right [sic] of Freemasonry. The study is to encompass any
and all branches and or lodges thereof. Furthermore, the convention charges the Home Mission Board
with the responsibility of bringing a report with recommendation to the Convention which is to meet in
Houston, Texas, June 1993.

We report

That the Interfaith Witness Department of the Home Mission Board (HMB) has completed a study of
Freemasonry and its various branches, as directed by the Convention, with special attention given to the
compatibility of Freemasonry with Christianity and Southern Baptist doctrine. The study has been
reviewed by the HMB Executive Council (president and vice presidents), by the Board of Directors'
Administrative Committee (officers and committee chairmen), and by the Board of Directors of the HMB. The study has now been published as a 75-page document and is available for purchase on a cost recovery basis from the Home Mission Board.

Page 1

We further report

That the Administrative Committee of the Board of Directors has prepared this printed report to the
Convention and that it has been reviewed and approved by action of the Board of Directors, meeting
March 17, 1993, in Atlanta, Georgia.

We commend The Masonic Order for its many charitable endeavors such as the operation of 22 Shriners hospitals, 19 orthopedic hospitals, and 3 burns institutes with noteworthy success in treatment, research, and education, often providing free treatment to children under 18 years of age. Also, we commend support of the
Foundation for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Among Children and the Eastern Star
sponsorship of Masonic Homes for the Aged. These, with many other charitable and benevolent
endeavors, are commendable.

We acknowledge

That many outstanding Christians and Southern Baptists now are, and in the past have been, Masons,
including such notable past Southern Baptist leaders as B.H. Carroll, George W. Truett, L.R.
Scarborough, W.T. Connor, Louie D. Newton, and J.B. Lawrence.

We recognize

That many of the tenets and teachings of some Grand Lodges could be considered compatible with, and
even supportive of, Christian faith and practice, such as the strong emphasis on honesty, integrity,
industry, and character and the insistence that every member believe in God. Some Grand Lodges have
written into their monitors, guidelines, and rituals explicit references to Christian faith, including exact
quotes from the Bible, such as in the ritual constituting a new lodge in the Monitor of the Lodge of the
Grand Lodge of Texas:

I now solemnly consecrate this lodge to the honor and glory of Jehovah, the Grand Architect of the
Universe.

2 Or the explicit reference to Jesus in the Masonic Code of the Grand Lodge of Alabama:
It is therefore proper and in accordance with Masonic law and tenets for a Mason who believes in the
Christ Jesus to offer prayers in the Lodge in His Name.

3 Or the ceremony for laying a cornerstone found in The Murrow Masonic Monitor of the Grand Lodge of
Oklahoma: According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the
foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For
other foundation can no man lay, than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

4 Or the ceremony of the extinguishing of the lights, a Scottish Rite ceremony held on Maundy Thursday:
My Brethren, this is the anniversary of that Last Supper of which Jesus of Nazareth partook with His
humble disciples, after which He was betrayed and crucified.

Who, of any creed, can picture to himself, unmoved, that noble and sweet countenance, which never
looked on anything in anger, pale with agony, and streaming with tears? His back was torn by the lash,
His brow pierced by the thorns. He suffered, willingly, until it seemed, even to Him, that His God and
Father had forsaken Him.

And yet, even then, bruised, hanged upon a cross, betrayed by one He loved, suffering and, for a moment,
questioning, He still calls down not curses by blessings and a prayer for forgiveness upon those who had
so treated Him.

5 Or that found in the Scottish Rite 18th degree:
Wherein they [older forms of religion] were deficient [Masonry] found in the New Law of Love,
preached by Jesus of Nazareth, and which He sealed with His blood.

6 Or the strong affirmation of the Bible found in the North Carolina Lodge Manual:
The Holy Bible is given us as the rule and guide of faith . . . the Bible is the light which enlightens the
path of our duty to God.

7 Or that found in the Louisiana Masonic Monitor:
However they may differ in creed or theology, all good men are agreed that within the covers of the Holy
Bible are found those principles of morality which lay the foundation upon which to build a righteous SBC 1993 Decision on Freemasonry referenced in Character Counts by M. G. Maness

Page 3

life. . . . It is the one volume which has lived in the hearts of the people, molding and shaping their
destinies; and it leads the way to Him who is the Light of the world.

8 Or the words of the chaplain in the funeral service found in the Masonic Manual of the Grand Lodge of
Georgia: I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

9 To be sure, not all Grand Lodges affirm Christian doctrine, and many do not declare Jesus as the unique
Son of God; but many do, and for this we commend them. There is not complete uniformity in tenets or
practice among lodges.

We conclude

That many tenets and teachings of Freemasonry are not compatible with Christianity or Southern Baptist
doctrine, including:

1. The prevalent use of offensive concepts, titles, and terms such as Worshipful Master for the leader of a
lodge; references to their buildings as mosques, shrines, or temples; and the use of words such as
Abaddon and Jah-Bul-On, the so-called secret name of God. To many, these terms are not only offensive
but sacrilegious.

2. The use of archaic, offensive rituals and so-called bloody oaths or obligations, among these being that
promised by the Entered Apprentice:

All this I most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear, . . . binding myself under no less penalty than
that of having my throat cut from ear to ear, my tongue torn out by its roots, and buried in the sands of the
sea, at low water mark, where the tide ebbs and flows twice in twenty-five hours, should I, in the least,
knowingly or wittingly violate or transgress this my Entered Apprentice obligation.

10 Or that of the Fellow Craft degree:

All this I most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear, . . . binding myself under no less penalty than
that of having my left breast torn open, my heart plucked from thence, and given to the beast of the field
and the birds of the air as prey, should I, in the least, knowingly or wittingly, violate or transgress this my
Fellow Craft obligations.

11 Or that of the Master Mason:
All this I most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear, . . . binding myself under no less penalty than
that of having my body severed in two, . . .my bowels torn from thence and burned to ashes, and these
scattered before the four winds of heaven, that no more remembrance might be had among men or
Masons of so vile a wretch as I should be, should I, in the least, knowingly or wittingly violate or
transgress this my Master Mason obligation. So help me God and keep me steadfast.

12 Or that of other advanced degrees with required rituals considered by many to be pagan and incompatible
with Christian faith and practice.

Even though these oaths, obligations, and rituals may or may not be taken seriously by the initiate, it is
inappropriate for a Christian to sincerely promise and swear, with a hand on the Holy Bible, any such
promises or oaths, or to participate in any such pagan rituals.

3. The recommended readings, in pursuance of advanced degrees, of religions and philosophies, which
are undeniably pagan and/or occultic, such as much of the writings of Albert Pike, Albert Mackey, Manly
Hall, Rex Hutchins, W.L. Wilmshurst, and other such authors; along with their works, such as Morals
and Dogma, A Bridge to Light, An Encyclopedia of Freemasonry, and The Meaning of Masonry.

4. The reference to the Bible placed on the altar of the lodge as the furniture of the lodge, comparing it to
the square and compass rather than giving it the supreme place in the lodge.

5. The prevalent use of the term Alight, which some may understand as a reference to salvation rather
than knowledge or truth.

6. The implication that salvation may be attained by one's good works, implicit in the statement found in
some Masonic writings that Masonry is continually reminded of that purity of life and conduct which is
necessary to obtain admittance into the Celestial Lodge above where the Supreme Architect of the
Universe presides.14 Even though many Masons understand that the purity of life and conduct can only be
achieved through faith in Jesus Christ, others may be led to believe they can earn salvation by living a
pure life with good conduct.

7. The heresy of universalism (the belief all people will eventually be saved), which permeates the
writings of many Masonic authors, which is a doctrine inconsistent with New Testament teaching.

15

8. The refusal of most lodges (although not all) to admit for membership African-Americans.

IN SUMMARY
In light of the fact that many tenets and teachings of Freemasonry are not compatible with
Christianity and Southern Baptist doctrine, while others are compatible with Christianity and
Southern Baptist doctrine, we therefore recommend that consistent with our denomination's deep
convictions regarding the priesthood of the believer and the autonomy of the local church,
membership in a Masonic Order be a matter of personal conscience. Therefore, we exhort
Southern Baptists to prayerfully and carefully evaluate Freemasonry in light of the Lordship of
Christ, the teachings of the Scripture, and the findings of this report, as led by the Holy Spirit of
God.

Heard or sensed something. I looked from the mountaintop I was on down into a valley that seemed to stretch forever. I sensed any moment I might see an enemy aircraft. It felt like enemy aircraft were already in the air but I could not see them. It seemed one might materialize from thin air. I could see cars driving in the valley in the distance. The cars seem larger than life because of heat rising from the valley floor.
The sun flickered on the cars. I jumped a few times thinking the flicker was bombs hitting the cars. I sensed an enemy invasion and war. It seemed so close. End
I felt sick when I woke.
I’ve dream of being ready for camping for 6 months now. This is one of many dreams with a similar theme. I feel the need to get things ready to move. I have also seen wind in these dreams. Now I can connect the wind with an invasion.
Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will raise up against Babylon (USA), and against them that dwell in the midst of them that rise up against me, a destroying wind; and will send unto Babylon fanners, that shall fan her, and shall empty her land: for in the day of trouble they shall be against her round about. Jeremiah 51:1-2
One night I had four dreams. Each of those dreams had wind and I could see camping supplies in each.
Mat 24:20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
Mar 13:18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.
I know there are other things that must take place before an invasion but things seemed so urgent in the dream.

<![CDATA[Russian Soldier Assault in Countryside Dream 08/19/2015]]>Thu, 20 Aug 2015 13:53:15 GMThttp://junipertreeandbeyond.com/byrons-written-blog/russian-soldier-assault-in-countryside-dream-08192015Dream 08/19/2015

Russians soldiers advancing through the countryside like well trained mixed martial arts fighters with terror as their intent.

I was assigned to help delay the advance of Russian soldiers here in the US. I had an SUV, shotgun, 2 pistols and was accompanied by 2 teenage girls. I drove into a farm setting with a barn, house and wooded acreage around with a fence around the side and back yard of the house.

Initially, I decided to park the SUV inside the old barn to avoid early detection. I guess my field of vision was too limited there so I drove out of the barn and parked under trees beside the fence. I had seen people leaving the area to avoid being captured or killed while moving into the first position but, it was obvious the people inside the farm house had no idea what was coming. Their dogs came right up beside me while inside the fence and began barking like I was an intruder. I could see the people in the house continuing with their normal daily business.

From that position, I could see down the fence line that surrounded the houses back yard. There were trees in the area so the undergrowth was minimal. Way off in the distance I saw Russian soldiers running and diving on people as if wild men. They were tackling the people as if shooting them would be too quick. It seemed as if terror was the intent. When I saw this I thought, “I’ve never seen soldiers so ready to use extra effort to terrorize their enemy.” Perhaps their intent was to inflict pain and terror.

I decided to once again reposition the vehicle before the Russian’s advanced to where I was. I pulled deeper into the woods off to the left side of the house. I considered parking in a ditch to lower the silhouette of the vehicle but pulled in behind a tree. Then I told the teenage girls with me to get their guns ready. They replied, “We don’t have any.” I began trying to figure out where I had put my shotgun rounds and removed the plug from my shotgun. End of dream.

The feeling I had after seeing the Russians soldiers diving on people like savages was that I could never get the US people to understand the magnitude of the assault. I realized few if any people even believe it would be possible for the Russians to get an army inside the US and if they did, they would never think they would be unprepared for the onslaught the Russians are going to do.

Today I woke after hearing the words, “wake up” in an audible voice. I was alone in the house. My eyes were still closed and I saw a prominent preacher sitting at a table. Then I heard a narrative. The narrative was such as to explain the prominent preacher doesn’t think other of God’s servants are worthy to sit at the table with him. The voice went on to explain that all God’s children are worth to sit at the table and proclaim Jesus Christ even though the preacher doesn’t think so.

<![CDATA[Government House to House Gun Inspection Dream 06/29/2015]]>Tue, 30 Jun 2015 15:47:49 GMThttp://junipertreeandbeyond.com/byrons-written-blog/government-house-to-house-gun-inspection-dream-06292015I had moved in to a house with my wife and kids. In the dream I wondered how I could afford this house and also thought about how impressed people might be by the house. Mostly normal family activities were occurring in the house until I looked out the kitchen window which faced the back yard.

I looked out and saw a fountain with a small pool in the back yard. Then a moving styled truck passed between me and the fountain. The truck was almost touching the house. Really close. When the cargo area of the truck passed by the window, I saw Porky Pig’s face on the side. The truck turned right at the corner of my house so I opened the door leading into the garage to see.

At that point I saw several 5 ton trucks in my drive way. In the back of the trucks I saw government agents, reporters and life sized plastic army men like we used to play with when we were kids. The government agents and the reports came into the house. The agent said, “I’m here to check the legality of your guns.”

He began with a shotgun rifle combination I had. He broke the gun down in a way I’d never seen one broke down. He concluded the gun was illegal because I did not have a plug in the gun to limit the number of rounds to 3. I knew he was going to take it. End of dream.

I wondered what Porky Pig and the plastic army men had to do with this dream. One thing I thought of was how actors could be used posing a military to fool people into thinking they were being overwhelmed with force which in turn might make people comply more easily.

<![CDATA[Dream - "People Expect Me (The Lord) To Serve the Truth On a Silver Platter!"]]>Sun, 28 Jun 2015 13:46:14 GMThttp://junipertreeandbeyond.com/byrons-written-blog/dream-people-expect-me-the-lord-to-serve-the-truth-on-a-silver-platterDream 06/25/2015.

I went to my hometown to inform people of the judgment of God coming to this country. I went to my parents house. Two other people went with me. We rode in the same car together. They were co-workers with me and african-american.

This was the second time to my parents house. I had been received well the first time. I was received cautiously this time. The three of us went into the living room with my mother and father. After a short period, my father, who was laying on the couch, began saying, Byron, Byron, Byron, Byron, Byron. Then my mother joined in. Byron, Byron, Byron, Byron, Byron. She then said, that’s all we hear everywhere we go. People want to tell us what everyone is saying about Byron. They all think you are crazy everywhere we go. We can’t get away from it.

One of my coworkers had picked us a guitar to play. At that point I realized we were not welcome. Although they would let us stay, it is only because of common courtesy and had nothing to do with the cause of Christ. I decided we would get a hotel room instead.

We went to a hotel room to sleep for the night. It seemed like a hotel by an airport. There was a parking garage and many lanes going here and there. We parked in the parking garage and began walking to find a room. It was confusing because the hotel entrance was on the second floor. I looked up and saw my daughter standing on a balcony on the second floor. She was happy we had made it, smiled and waved to us.

Then in a vision inside the dream I saw a man’s hand with a platter on it. It was held up above the elbow and was silver. Then I heard the Lord say, “People expect me to serve the truth on a silver platter” and I woke up.
